Once your baby starts developing his or her teeth, then he or she will spend a majority of the time chewing, of course. Another element in choosing teething blankets is the design. First and foremost, it must be attractive to your baby. You can assure this by testing out what kinds of designs or colors your baby is interested in beforehand. If in case your baby isn’t picky about color or design, then feel free to choose what you want. A way to choose the color is by matching it to the room’s walls and furniture.  

You can also choose to have the teething blanket personalized with your baby’s name, initials, or picture printed or sewn on. This helps parents identify the blanket, especially if they have several babies at home at times or bring their teething blankets to daycare. Also, you can choose to keep the teether blanket as a childhood memory for your baby when he or she grows up, and having the little personalized touch will make things fun.  

Next, you have to find an infant teething blanket that is easy to wash and dry, so that you can keep it clean at all times. This is also to prevent your baby from getting sick or infected by any disease because of a dirty blanket, especially since he or she will be chewing it a lot. 

There are many blankets for sale for babies, and not all of them are meant to be teething blankets. You can choose to buy ones that are meant for teething, or get one that is not, but can be made into teething blankets. Just make sure that it is well suited to be a teething blanket, and your child will be sure to get through those though teething times easily.
